Jamaican-Style Hamburgers with Coconut Lime Sauce
Ingredients
For the Hamburgers:
2 pounds ground beef
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or any other type of shredded cheese)
1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves (use a little less if using ground/powdered thyme)
2 teaspoons dill weed
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons pink salt
2 teaspoons paprika
For the Coconut Lime Sauce:
1 cup sour cream
½ cup canned coconut milk (thick)
1 tablespoon lime juice (fresh or 100% concentrate)
2 tablespoons brown sweetener (such as Swerve/allulose)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 425°F.
In a large bowl, mix the ground beef with the beaten eggs and shredded mozzarella cheese until well combined.
Incorporate the spices into the meat one by one, mixing thoroughly after each addition: add the thyme, then the dill weed, followed by the garlic powder, pink salt, and finally the paprika. Mix well until everything is fully incorporated.
Shape the mixture into hamburger patties (or meatballs, if preferred).
Place the patties on a baking sheet and bake for about 15 minutes, turning them if necessary, until they are completely cooked through.
While the hamburgers are baking, prepare the sauce: in a small bowl, combine the sour cream, thick coconut milk, lime juice, and brown sweetener. Whisk together until the sauce is completely smooth and well combined.
Drizzle the sweet coconut lime sauce over the cooked hamburgers.
Serve and enjoy!
